Description
Never watch your camera sink again
Action cameras get lost underwater in predictable ways: a mount gives way during a giant stride, a thumb screw backs out, a camera gets set down on a ledge for a moment, or a regulator is pulled out during an air-share drill. The Camera Safety Tether is a simple backup for all of those. It’s a coiled lanyard with stainless clips that connects your camera to your BCD D-ring, so if the camera comes off its mount, it stays with you.
RegMount already keeps your camera in front of your face, which is why we say “No more lost cameras.” Adding a tether gives you a second, independent connection. It’s the same belt-and-braces approach divers use with every piece of critical gear.
Why a coiled lanyard
- Stays compact: the coil keeps the lanyard short and close to your body instead of looping around.
- Stretches when you need it: it extends when you turn your head, swap the camera onto your octo or hold it out for a selfie.
- Easy on, easy off: stainless clips at each end attach and release quickly, even with cold hands.

Compatibility
Works with any camera, housing or frame that has an attachment point, including GoPro cameras and similar action cameras. Pairs perfectly with the RegMount Regulator Camera Mount and the Complete Diver Kit.
How to use it safely
Clip one end to your camera’s housing or frame and the other to a D-ring on your BCD, ideally a chest D-ring on the same side as your regulator hose. Route the tether so it doesn’t cross your face, wrap around your regulator hose or get in the way of your alternate air source. Practice removing and replacing your regulator with the tether attached in a pool, so you know it won’t interfere. For more ideas, read how not to lose your action camera underwater.
Care
Rinse in fresh water after each diving day and work the clips open and closed to flush out salt and sand. Let it dry before storage, and replace the tether if the coil is damaged or a clip stops closing fully.
A tether is a backup, not a guarantee. RegMount is not responsible for damaged or lost equipment during use or installation. Please dive safely.
